Same with Satellite Pro L770-116. If I understood it correctly, this is 
due to some unpublished proprietary Toshiba ACPI specification. So 
unless Toshiba is willing to publish these (which, at current they are 
not), one has to rely on someone to reverse-engineer this ACPI 
functionality to get it implemented in the linux kernel. *sigh*
