Its a blind shot, the omnibook module uses several backends to provide
the "best" support for different hardware, in which case, you need to
change the ectype number to see which "interface" suits your hardware
better, if i recall correctly, it goes from 1-15.

modprobe omnibook ectype=XX

The DMI strings that you added just made the module autodetect
your model, but not precisely added support to it, for that, well,
see above.

The backlight "error" you're getting is because the sources are still
not compatible with kernel 3.0, not an error exactly, just a matter of
tweaking the code checking the kernel version string.
