why you did go with a soo old version?

and I can't understand why you are tryint to use an enterprise software
that has been designed to be for server purpouse on a laptop...

why don't you just go with Ubuntu or Fedora?

I had not much trouble with my laptop installing Debian Linux.

your laptop is new and has been around for a short time now.. so you
have better probability to have it working properly if you go with a
Linux distro created for Desktop and possibly bleading edge with latest
technology and hardware support...

and anyway if you are new to Linux ubuntu and fedora are easier then red
hat.

if it still don't work after that try with what suggested Rex.
