Hi Sally, I have a Satellite P205D S8804 and have installed Mandriva
sucessfully. I had a challenge with sound and found that the mixer
settings with the problem. Kept getting feedback because the mic
settings were wrong. I do not use a modem so that piece I have not
tested. But everything else is working great ATI video, Wireless and
Compiz.

My son thinks he heard something about Toshiba considering releasing a Linux laptop, and I dont see why not considering Linux is free to distribute...that would be great.
