with YAMAHA YMF753soundcard |

Who can help me with a working configuration
of YAMAHA YMF753
soundcard boundled with Toshiba Satellite
5100-501 ?
I run SuSe 8.0 on laptop and it
works fine for standard devices
(IRDA, IEE1394, Smart Card not testet
yet) except soundcard.
SuSe does not provide driver and ALSA
0.9 doesn't either.
Is someone writing
a driver ? Maybe I'll try.

see the 5005-S504 pages for help on setting
this laptop up, much of the hardware is
similar. Best for this is probably the page
at http://www.condorito.org/Toshiba/
as he links to the other
pages plus the mailing list set up for the
5005's and also suggests appropriate ./configure
options for Alsa. the sound also works with
the kernel driver for the intel8x0 chips,
but Alsa goes better for DVDs (Xine with
DivX codec mostly works for me).
