Information from users: I cannot get Firewire working Thu, 20 May 2004

I'm tring to get the latest Linux kernel working on my Toshiba Satellite 5105
but I'm having trouble with Firewire to work, although the external Firewire
Desk (ADS Technology) DLX-815 runs properly under WinXP.

    Thu, 20 May 2004

I found that the Firewire can work with the following 2 distributions (kernels):

1. Turbo 10D (kernel 2.6.0_6)
It doesn't work in case of 2.6.0-test5_2.
After comparison of source file of 2.6.0-test5_2 to that of kernel-2.6.0_6,
I noticed that the same modifications (as the 1394_2604.diff.gz) had been made to
the "ohci1394_pci_probe()" function of drivers/ieee1394/ohci1394.c.

2. FedoraCore1(kernel 2.6.4+1394_2604.diff.gz)
After applying the patch file 1394_2604.diff.gz (for kernel 2.6.4) to the source
of kernel 2.6.4, we confirmed it worked correctly; see the following webpage below:
