[tlinux-users:05303] A black line appears down the right side of the screen of Satellite 2430 S-255. Wed, 21 Apr 2004

Running Mandrake 10 on Satellite Pro 6100 with Nvidia drivers;
everything works fine except that 1/4 inch black line appears down the right side of
the screen. I have tried to remove modules by "rmmod nvidia" and to reload them, and
also, added options nvidia NVreg_SoftEDIDs=0 NVreg_Mobile=2 to my /etc/modules.conf,
but the state remains the same.

Faced the same problem with Tecra 8200. I am still a real newbie, so notwithstanding
advices about modifying the resolution, I don't quite get it. Please advise me the
method when you fix it.

Faced the similar problem with Satellite 2430 S-255. A thing you can try is to download
the drivers from NVIDIAs web-site and install them:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_display_ia32_1.0-5336.html

Also, since I have heard Mandrake 10.0 has some problems with the display, I recommend
using SuSE 9.0/Fedora/RedHat 9.0, all of which I have successfully got to work.

I had just the same problem with Tecra 8200 but solved it by including an option
"Display1400" in my XF86Config file.
