[tlinux-users-j:03300] CD-ROM not recognized on Dynabook SS3010 Sat, 14 Jun 2003

I am using SS3010 with CD-ROM (PA2671UJ/PC5013A).
Recently, I have installed Media Labo's MLD2.0 mini but it does not recognize
the CD-ROM above.

And then, I have pulled some "/etc/sysconfig/pcmcia"s out of the ML archives and
rewritten them, changed BIOS PC card with a 16-bit one, and so on...
But still there's no way to get the CD-ROM recognized.

I am sure that the CD-ROM is always ON. Then, why in the world??
Have I abused the "mount" command?

Since I am a newcomer to Linux, I may not have known the right operation yet.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why don't you put the following in /etc/pcmcia/config:

card "KME KXLC005 CD-ROM"
version "KME", "KXLC005"
#manfid 0x0032, 0xx0704
bind "ide-cs"

This entry is defined in TrueboLinux for sure, but maybe not in RH.

When I added "/etc/pcmcia/config" as advised above, the following message
was shown:

cardmgr[679]: socket1: KME KXLDC005 CD-ROM
kernel: ide-cs: GetNextTuple: No more items
cardmgr[679]: get dev infoon socket 1 failed: Resource temporarily
unavailable

And then, I tried to mount CD-ROM, which in turn resulted:
"mnt: /mnt/cdrom not found in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtabin".

Also, the following is the result in /etc/mtab:
/dev/loop1 / ext2 rw 0 0
none /proc proc rw 0 0
usdbevfs /proc/bus/usb usbdevfs rw 0 0
none /dev/pts devpts rw, gid=5, mode=620 0 0
none /dev/shm tmpfs rw 0 0
