SuSE 9.1 on Tecra M2
Hi,
I wanted you to know that I have just installed Suse
Linux 9.1 (kernel 2.6) without any major problem. The
steps I followed were
(a) Download the Personal Edition from http://www.suse.com/us/private/download/ftp/personal_iso_int.html
(b) Burn a Boot CD from the ISO Image using Nero,Roxio,
or other software
(c) Toshiba Tecra M2 does not have BIOS, so open
the Start->Toshiba->Utilities->Console->
Hardware Configuration and change the boot priority
to load first from the CD
(d) Reboot the system and let Suse start up Yast(Yet
another setup tool)
(e) The Setup procedure by default includes resizing
the NT partition tools and allocating enough space
for swap and root partitions.Every option could be
customised if need to.
(f)Follow defaults if you are not sure.
Thats it..You are good to go.
Hope this helps others out there
