This is a dual-system installation. After Boot, a menu appears allowing the user to select Xandros (#1) or Windows XP (#4) from a list. If nothing is selected, Xandros boots up after about 30 seconds.

The A7 has an internal microphone. I can't get it to work in Windows XP, but in Xandros Premium, the default setting is "on." One can hear keystrokes amplified through the laptop speakers. If volume wheel is turned up, one gets audio feedback.

To turn off the microphone,
Click the speaker icon (Lower left corner of the screen, in the taskbar).
Click [Mixer] and the sound controls will pop up.
Click the speaker icon at the bottom of the [Mic] slider to turn off the microphone.
One can also slide the slider towards the bottom. This will reduce the internal microphone sensitivity without turning it off entirely.
