Slackware 10.0 on Satellite A75-S209

I'm not a Linux expert, but I know some tricks (enough to be able to
break things up ;)). I installed Slackware 10.0 on my A75
I had no trouble in the installation and I managed to make the wifi and
the sound work. The biggest help was this page:

http://jmccoy.sdf-us.org/slackware/toshiba-a75.php

by Jeff McCoy (thanks Jeff)

Here is a summary of what's in there:

Hardware Components
Status under Linux
Notes
Mobile Pentium 4 518 supporting hyperthreading (Mobile P4 518, 2.8GHz) Works No special procedure required during installation
15.4 WXGA TFT Display
(1280x800, 60Hz refresh)
Works No special procedure required during installation
ATI Radeon Mobility 9000 64MB Shared Memory Works Works with radeon driver supplied with standard slackware install (xorg/dri driver). I haven't gotten the ati binary driver to work.
512MB DIMM (fixed memory slot with one upgradeable slot) Works No special procedure required during installation
60 GB Hard Drive Works No special procedure required during installation
Integrated Wireless
(Atheros 802.11 bg)
Works Based on Atheros chipset; use Madwifi drivers.
Integrated Network Card 10/100 Ethernet LAN Works Uses Realtec 8139 chipset; modprobe 8139too and it works
Internal V.92/56k Modem Don't Know Haven't test the modem
DVD/CD-RW Drive Works No special procedure required during installation
Lithium-Ion Battery Works No special procedure required during installation
Realtek ACL250 Sound Card Works ALSA Sound drivers required for Kernel 2.4.x
Uses snd-atiixp module; hotplug incorrectly loads both snd-atiixp and snd-atiixp-modem; need to blacklist the modem module to get sound working.
Touchpad Works Touchpad is recognized as an Alps touchpad; works out of the box with a 2.4 kernel; for 2.6, apply alps patch and use synaptics driver.
ACPI Works Partially Used the acpibare kernel; can see battery status etc, system powers down properly, but beyond that I haven't gotten ACPI functions to work.

Well, almost everything is there.

I didn't try the ACPI with the acpibare kernel. General ACPI is not
working, only FN-F6/F7 to control brightness.
I have some problems with the Xorg scripts I'm sending xorg.conf file, but
the rest is fine.

Next step is to recompile the kernel to get ACPI. I have to say the ACPI
management is not so good under Windows XP. The application need Admin
priviledges to run properly (otherwise it does nothing). I also have some
unexpected power offs, due to driver bugs. (Unfortunatelly, I don't have
the windows error report)

I hope this helps.

PS : I'm attaching some files as below:
xorg.conf
modules.conf
dmesg
blacklist
