Ubuntu 6.06 LTS on Satellite A55-S1064

Hello,
I have installed three different distributions on my Toshiba, but only
two of them would use all of its features....Xandros Premium Home
edition and Ubuntu 6.06 LTS. I am using Ubuntu now and it works great!
All the features of this laptop are supported, with the exception of the
winmodem. I bought a Creative V92 PC-Card modem and it works great as
well since I live away from the city and have to use dial-up to get on
the internet at home. I didn't have to do any compiling or tweaking to
get my laptop working with Ubuntu, it just works! I hope this helps
others who are wanting to use Linux and get away from the other
operating system :). The built-in wireless card gets an astounding
4,850 Kbps connection when I am at work near the wireless cafe!
