I have gotten slackware-12.1 installed on a satellite A205-S5000

sound works
wifi works

udev has taken care of the rest to get the wifi working I installed madwifi-hal-0.10.5.6-r3835-20080801.tar.gz
to get the sound working I installed the realtek-linux-linux-audopack-5.05 other than those two
it was a stock slackware install to get a duel boot system the factory image has to be reinstalled
the windows diskmgmt tool hamburgers the partition table so badly that nothing can be done
to save the windows partition I installed madwifi-0.9.4.tar.gz and madwifi-hal-0.10.5.6-r3835-20080801.tar.gz
to get wifi working I just had to reinstall because I clobered my main system installing
a 64 bit version of slackware-12.1 just to try it out so far every thing is working and it feels faster.
